January 1st: A Fresh Start

Oh boy! Technological difficulties delayed me, but I was determined to get this posted before the end of the day. Tomorrow, I am hoping this won’t be the case.

In any event, today’s challenge is to start the year fresh. Call someone to apologize for a way that you’ve wronged them. If you’re a christian, pray with this person. In the words of Jon Foreman, “every breath is a second start.” Let us be quick to recognize when we are wrong and humble enough to apologize for it.

Today’s recommended reading: Matthew 5:23-24 and James 5:16.

I’ve linked to and recommend the ESV; however, if you have a version you’re more comfortable with, feel free to use it. I just wouldn’t recommend the Message because it takes away from the text and summarizes verses.

Also, if you’re looking for a good jam, Switchfoot’s New Years Day is pretty awesome.
